A man has died after getting into difficulty in the River Suir in Carrick-on-Suir yesterday (Tuesday, July 1), Gardaí have confirmed.
A Garda Press Office statement said Gardaí were alerted to an incident where a male encountered difficulty in the water in Carrick-on-Suir at approximately 8:30pm yesterday.
“His body has since been recovered from the river. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Investigations are ongoing,” the Garda statement added.
