Little Tadgh sadly passed away following the death of his twin Oisín in just April of last year.

The community of Clonmel is heartbroken following the death of little Tadhg Relihan, an Honorary Garda.

Tadgh and his twin brother Oisín were born in July 2023 and had been battling a rare genetic condition, myotubular myopathy, since their birth. Little Oisín also sadly passed away in April 2024 at only 9 months old.

The boys' parents Danny and Nicola Relihan, originally from Cork, fought tirelessly to take care of their little boys who spent nearly their entire lives in medical care.

Both Tadgh and Oisín's story spread beyond Clonmel as they were named as honorary members of An Garda Síochána for their bravery and courage.

Tributes have flooded in online since Tadgh's recent passing, with many people expressing their condolences with his family.

The Little Blue Heroes Foundation which supports families with children who have serious illnesses shared their sympathies with Tadgh's family online: "We are deeply saddened to join An Garda Síochána Tipperary in mourning the loss of Honorary Garda Tadhg Relihan from Tipperary. Tadhg passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family.

"Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with his devoted parents, Nicola and Danny, as well as his extended family and friends. Honorary Garda Tadhg now reunites with his twin brother, Honorary Garda Oisín, to walk a heavenly beat together. Ar dheis Dé go raibh anam."

BUMBLEance Children's Ambulance Service also shared a tribute online, saying: "Today we're honouring the memory of a brave child who touched the hearts of many during their time with us, Tadgh. We will always cherish the memories we have and remember the smiles we shared on board the BUMBLEance. We extend our deepest condolences to their family during this time."
