CAMOGIE: Drom-Inch players secure a trio of awards after a wonderful club campaign

After their fantastic performances for Drom-Inch across the season, three senior players have been chosen as award winners for their efforts during the 21/22 and 22/23 club campaigns.

Caoimhe Bourke, Eimear McGrath and Mairead Eviston were all pivotal players over the last number of years as Drom Inch grew year on year, in terms of achievements and development. The three key players were honoured at the recent AIB Camogie Club Player awards.

Goalkeeper Caoimhe Bourke produced some fantastic saves and was always reliable with puckouts. The Tipp panelist was named the 2021/2022 Munster Club Player of the Year. After her efforts across the year Mairead Eviston picked up the same award for the 2022/2023 campaign. AS well as that Mairead and her Drom-Inch and Tipperary team mate Eimear McGrath were both named in the 2022/23 AIB Camogie Club Championship Team of the Year capping a superb year for The Ragg based club.

All three players made a huge contribution to Pat Ryan's team in recent times when Drom Inch were crowned champions of Tipperary and reached consecutive Munster senior camogie finals. They famously beat the Clare champions on a cold afternoon last winter at Mallow to secure the Munster title to much joy and applause from their supporters after an intense encounter.

The mid Tipperary side looked to push on after that and reach another final. They continued their journey last winter to Westmeath where the Ulster champions waited in the All -Ireland semi final. Loughgiel Shamrocks proved stronger on the day winning a one score game with a flurry of late points as the Tipp side bowed out on an icy and snow swept Kinnegad last December. Despite the loss that day the quality of the Drom Inch team performances across their campaign highlight the progress made within the club who are serious contenders for honours in recent years.
