Carrick Davins GAA Club's kids hone their playing skills at fun filled summer camp

Carrick Davins GAA Club Summer Camp finished up on Friday, August 11 after a week of fun filled with skills based activities enjoyed by all the participating children.
Despite the showers, the 48 children were kept busy with skills training for hurling and football, basketball and games.
The camp was organised by the club’s Juvenile Secretary Antoinette McGrath and Treasurer Willie Dwyer and it was run by coaches Mickey Ryan, Aaron O’Halloran, both Carrick Davins players, and Kenny Hassett of DKAM Sports.
Carrick Davins Club members Lynsey Hackett, Ann Power and Stephen Hackett also helped out.
On the final day, the children were presented with medals by Davins players David Cooke, who is on the Under 15 Tipperary Football team and Intermediate player Mickey Whelan, who was a member of the Tipperary Minor team that won an All-Ireland title in 2016.
It was with great pride that each child received their medals from these two skilled players who encouraged them to enjoy their training and matches.
The Davins Club thanks DKAM Sports, all the organisers, helpers, the parents and guardians and the children who put such great effort into all their skills training.
The club’s Juvenile Academy weekly schedule is as follows: session for 4-7-year-olds is on Mondays from 6.30pm to 7.30pm;
Under 11s and Under 9s training is on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6.30pm to 7.30pm and Under 13s train on Thursdays from 6.15pm to 7.15pm. New members are always welcome.
