St Molleran's GAA Club's Junior Hurling team were also victorious over the weekend

St Molleran's GAA Club's Intermediate hurlers achieved their second victory of the East Waterford Intermediate Championship last Saturday evening when they defeated Butlerstown at Dunhill GAA Club grounds in the third round of the tournaement.

Full-time score: 1:19 to 0:08 points.

Ahead of St Molleran's Hurling team's third round game in the East Intermediate Hurling Championship, Lenny Foley called to Páirc Naomh Maoilearáin to present his sponsored jerseys to the club. The adult playing members and the club are very appreciative of Lenny's support Lenny.

Meanwhile, the Junior Team were also victorious over Ferrybank on Sunday morning. Final score was: St Molleran's 3-14, Ferrybank 2-13.

The fourth round of the Intermediate championship is this Friday in Dunhill. The team will face Roanmore.

The Club hosted the Senior Hurling Championship clash between Fourmilewater and Passage last Friday.

Passage ran out slight winners through the efforts of a super strike that found the net in the dying seconds from county star, Mark Fitzgerald.

St Molleran's GAA Club was delighted to host the game and looks forward to having more fixtures during the year. Thanks to club members who stewarded at the event. Also thank you to the Club's neighbours Carrick Utd AFC Ltd and John O’Donnell for the use of their car parking facilities.

The late Mark McConnell

St Molleran's GAA Club was very sad to learn of the sudden and unexpected passing of Mark McConnell.

Mark McConnell served as the physical trainer/coach of the Club's adult teams for several years. St Molleran's GAA Club extends its deepest condolences to his partner Mary, four children Érin, Fionn, Fiadh and Caragh, parents Ray and Sylvia (née Mason), siblings, extended family, and friends both inside and outside GAA circles. His funeral Mass was celebrated in St Mary's Church in Cappoquin on Tuesday and he was buried afterwards in St Declan's Cemetery in Cappoquin.
