The Mayor of Clonmel Cllr Richie Molloy accorded a Mayoral Reception to south Tipperary foster parents who he said were very special people and very often forgotten by the majority of society.

He paid tribute to all the foster parents who were present for the reception and said they gave wonderful support to children when they most needed support in times of crisis and asked more people in Clonmel and indeed south Tipperary to consider becoming foster parents.

“There are 86 families across south Tipperary and neighbouring area who are currently providing foster care to our most vulnerable children, and tonight is a recognition, appreciation and acknowledgement of their commitment,” said Mayor Molloy.

Mayor Molloy said that any people considering becoming foster parents could contact him or any of the social workers in TUSLA and he would give any information and assistance they might require.
