Business-owners across Tipperary are being encouraged to review a new consulation

The Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage has launched a consultation through the Local Democracy Taskforce, focused on reviewing how local government operates  from decision-making and governance to funding and town-level engagement.

County Tipperary Chamber has been invited to make a formal submission to this process, and they want to ensure that the voices of businesses in every town and village across Tipperary are heard.

Whether you’re based in Clonmel, Nenagh, Thurles, Tipperary Town, Cashel, Carrick-on-Suir, Roscrea or any of our rural communities, this consultation is directly relevant to you. It covers:

  • The role of Municipal Districts and town-focused bodies
  • How local decisions are made and funded
  • Engagement between councils and businesses
  • The balance between elected councillors and the executive
  • How towns can better coordinate and respond to local challenges

You can find out more about the consulation here by emailing [email protected].

"This is a rare opportunity for businesses across Tipperary to shape how local government supports towns like yours. Your voice matters, and we’ll ensure it’s part of the official record," the County Tipperary Chamber said.
