Derelict site in Tipperary 'a constant venue for anti-social behaviour'

Immediate task is to tackle town centre properties
A derelict site at Elm Park, Clonmel, formerly known as Jimmy Keating’s shop, has been dormant for nearly twenty years and is a constant venue for anti-social behaviour.
This was stated by Cllr Pat English in a motion submitted to the monthly meeting of Clonmel Borough District.
A reply from District Administrator Carol Creighton stated that Tipperary County Council is currently looking at derelict sites throughout Clonmel.
A new working group comprising the council’s housing section and environment section, as well as Clonmel Borough District, has been formed to highlight sites of concern and to look at tackling these vacant and derelict properties.
Ms Creighton stated that the immediate task is to tackle town centre properties.
However, this property in Elm Park would be assessed and should there be a need to take immediate action and if the funding is available, this would be added to the list, she added.
