'Drinking water that seems unfit for human consumption' in one Tipperary village

Shocking!
A local councillor has hit out at the quality of the water in one Tipperary village.
Cllr Liam Browne said: "During the recent election and since becoming a Cllr, I have received numerous contacts from people in Golden village and the surrounding areas, complaining about the interruptions and quality of the water supply.
"After talking with many people, looking at videos and pictures, it has become completely obvious that the issues faced by the people living around Golden are completely unacceptable.
"From drinking water that seems unfit for human consumption, to the scandalous reality of allowing untreated sewage flow into the River Suir, Irish Water and Tipperary County Council have a huge number of questions to answer.
"Huge investment is required, but the people of Golden deserve it.
"With that, I have now opened a case with Irish Water regarding both the constant interuptions in supply, and the level of water quality, and I will be making these one of my priority issues over the five year term while I am on the council.
"I will also be asking all my colleagues in the area to work together with me to ensure the necessary investment is put in place to ensure whatever needs to be done, gets done."
