EDITORIAL: Doing our best to deliver a 'Premier' product for our loyal readers

The editorial and commercial teams at The Nationalist and Tipperary Star provide a community service that you can trust.

From our news pages all the way through to our Classifieds; we’re about Premier people!

We don’t just have our locally-based editorial and commercial teams; we have an entire network of correspondents and photographers, of columnists and sports writers, ready to bring the news, sport and opinion that matters to your community onto the pages of this publication.

The Nationalist and Tipperary Star are news platforms that have stood the test of time, and will continue to do so.

But we’ve also been innovative in adapting to new technologies and innovations through our website: tipperarylive.ie.

Our popular digital platform, the number one ranked news website in the Premier County, brings you live, 24/7 news.

If it happens in Tipperary, it’s on tipperarylive.ie.

Each week in our paper and on our website, we strive for truth, fairness, accuracy and impartiality.

“Freedom of the press carries responsibilities,” the Press Council website states.

Members of the press have a duty to maintain the highest professional and ethical standards.

We follow a Code of Practice that sets the benchmark for those standards for any publication that's in the Press Council - of which all of our titles are members.

And that’s what we aim for each and every week.

Anyone can find ways nowadays to opine or “report” Premier County news, but it’s only when it’s read on the hallowed pages of The Nationalist and Tipperary Star, or on tipperarylive.ie, does it carry weight.

Only then do people know it has been vetted, scrutinised and checked and rechecked.

We make mistakes, of course we do, but each and every decision we make strives to achieve perfection; across the thousands and thousands of words we publish weekly.

Everything we do, is with you in mind.

The Nationalist, the Tipperary Star and tipperarylive.ie are owned by a family with strong Irish connections.

We’re produced by local people, for local people.
