FUNERAL arrangements have been announced for a ‘gentle and considerate’ Limerick man who died tragically in a road collision.
Mark Mc Mullen, 45, sadly passed away following a collision near Clonmel en route to Waterford on Monday, July 31.
Mark will be reposing this Friday evening, August 4, from 5.30pm to 7pm at Butler's Funeral Home, Bruff. Arriving to Ss Peter and Paul's Church, Bruff on Saturday afternoon, August 5, for Requiem Mass at 1pm followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
Mark resided in The Grove, Bruff with his wife Jennifer (nee Raftery) and son Noah.
He is predeceased by his mother Mary and he will be sadly missed by his heartbroken wife, son, dad Tony, sister, brothers, parents-in-law Mike and Marian, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, work colleagues and a wide circle of friends.
During what was a decorated underage rugby career, Mark represented Munster at school level and was a past pupil of St Clement's College in Limerick city. He later played for Shannon and Garryowen and remained an avid rugby fan.
Mark spent part of his childhood in South Africa, before returning home and eventually moving to Bruff. He was a qualified rigger whose work involved climbing high level masts around the country with his company Viatel. “He took great pride in the quality of his work”, his wife Jennifer explained.
Condolences online highlighted the type of man Mark was, with many remembering him fondly as being 'gentle and considerate'. "My deepest condolences to Mark's wife, his son and all the McMullen and Rafferty families, on the heartbreaking news of Mark[s sudden passing. Thinking of you all. I had the privilege of getting to know Mark through work.
"Such a kind, gentle and funny man. You would always feel better for having met him for a chat. Such a big loss to the world and he will be deeply missed. Rest in peace Mark," a colleague of his at Viatel said.
