Cycle for Maeve takes place on May 24

A fundraising cycle for a Thurles baby will take place on May 24.

Baby Maeve was diagnosed with a rare eye condition called Bilateral Anophthalmia, which means that she will never be able to see.

Jane Ryan, Suzy and Aisling Scanlon, along with other members of the Thurles branch of Maeve’s family would like to raise some money to support the family.

To do this, some members of the family will be taking part in a cycle starting in Thurles, and stopping at Christ the King in the Glen of Aherlow.

A night in Hickey's bar will be hosted by the family that night, with food, music, a bucket collection, and spot prizes on the night.

The total distance of the cycle is 150km.

The family says if anyone wishes to take part in the cycle, do not hesitate to contact them.

A GoFundMe page has also been set up to raise funds for Maeve and her family, which, at the time of writing, has raised €370.

Donations to the GoFundMe can be made via the link here.
