'I have to apologise for not telling people ahead of time about the outage'

Were you affected? 'Irish Water should give us prior alerts to ensure we can communicate them'
Water outages in Cloghleigh/Lagganstown and other parts of Golden on Wednesday evening for three to four hours have been criticised for the lack of notice of the outages.
The outages were related to maintenance works taking place in Cloghleigh.
Cllr Liam Browne said: "I have to apologise for not telling people ahead of time about the outage, but I did bring it up at the council meeting on Monday, that Irish Water should give us prior alerts to ensure we can communicate them.
"Unfortunately, Irish Water are a law unto themselves, and run a completely separate system from the council, but I will try to put in place something for the future."
The works were due to be completed at 5pm on Wednesday.
