The journalist returned to his former school to present the end-of-year awards at Prize Night.

Pat Leahy returned to his former school, Rockwell College, to speak to the students at their annual Prize Night.

Leahy, who is currently the Political Editor for the Irish Times, was part of the Rockwell class that graduated in 1990.

After presenting the students with their awards, Leahy went on to reflect on his time in the school, reminiscing on his own prize night 34 years ago, where Attorney General of Ireland, John L. Murray, was the guest speaker.

He went on to thank his former teachers for their dedication to the students throughout his time in the school, which included his father, Seamus Leahy, who taught at Rockwell from 1964 to 1999, and was also in attendance on the night.

Offering advice to the students, Leahy said to be careful taking advice from someone who grew up in a different era, as well as to think for themselves, seek information, and to experience life to its fullest away from their screens.
