LATEST: Potential for recount in Tipperary South after tight result in General Election

Huge news breaking this Sunday afternoon
There is potential for a full recount here in Tipperary South as the General Election 2024 results are announced.
The gap between Sinn Féin's Martin Browne and Independent candidate Seamus Healy has reduced significantly on the fourth count in the three-seater constituency.
On the fourth count, Browne received 6,183 votes after the distribution of John O'Heney's transfers and Seamus Healy reached 6,147 votes.
The pair are chasing Fianna Fáil's Imelda Goldbsoro (7,219) - who holds the third place based on her getting higher first preferences.
Those close to Seamus Healy's campaign have said a recount will be asked for if the Clonmel-based candidate is within 40 votes of Browne.
After the fourth count, there are 36 votes between the two men.
