‘Legislation has potential to be abused’ says Tipperary TD on Assisted Dying Bill legislation

Tipperary TD Michael Lowry will vote against the Assisted Dying Bill when it comes before the Dáil this week.
Lowry says that the introduction of Assisted Dying should not be allowed to happen on the basis that it has the potential to be abused.
‘The implications of this particular legislation being further liberalised or abused in the years ahead are beyond imaginable’ he says.

In March of this year an Oireachtas committee recommended legislating for assisted dying for those with six months to live.
This week the Dáil are to hold a vote on on the final Oireachtas report on Assisted Dying.
