Shocking!

General Election posters of Tipperary South Fine Gael candidate, Cllr Michael Murphy, have been set on fire this Monday evening.

The Mayor of Clonmel posted a video of one of the blazes on social media and said: "Thank you so much to the 99% of people living in South Tipperary who value how lucky we are to live in a democracy.

"The generations before us fought so hard to earn us the privilege of being able to vote. I will continue to represent the people of South Tipperary and will not be dissuaded by the cowardly, evil actions of a tiny minority.

"Thank you wholeheartedly to the thousands of people I’ve already met during the election campaign. I’m more determined than ever to be your voice in Dáil Éireann."

Cllr Mark Fitzgerald said: "Unfortunately this evening two of Michael Murphy posters were set alight one on the Fethard Road outside Cloneen and the other at Templeview cross outside Drangan.

"If anyone seen anything between 8pm and 8.30pm please contact Clonmel Guards (052) 617 7640. This is disgraceful behaviour and completely unacceptable."
