Man (30s) to appear before a court charged with possession of weapons in Cahir

A man, aged in his early 30s, will appear before a court tomorrow (Wednesday, December 6) charged with possession of offensive weapons, causing criminal damage and committing theft and burglary in Cahir in the early hours of today (Tuesday, December 5).

The man was charged with the alleged offences this evening (Tuesday, December 5) and will appear before Carrick-on-Suir District Court tomorrow morning. 

He was arrested in the Abbey Street area of Cahir at 1.45am today and detained at Cahir Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act and subsequently charged. 

A Cahir Garda Station spokesperson said a file is to be prepared for submission to the Director of Public Prosecutions in relation to the possibility of charging the accused with further offences.
