Man arrested in relation to seizure of €5,500 worth of illegal drugs in Moyglass area

A male arrested in connection with the seizure of illegal drugs worth an estimated €5,500 and more than €2,500 cash in the Moyglass area on Monday, has been released from Garda custody and a file on the case is to be submitted to the Director of Public Prosecutions. 

The cannabis herb, cannabis jellies and magic mushrooms and cash were seized during the search carried out at approximately 3.30pm on November 28 by members of the Clonmel Garda District Drugs Unit executing a search warrant. 

The male arrested in connection with the drugs and cash seizure was detained at Clonmel Garda Station under Section 4 of the 1984 Criminal Justice Act for questioning before being released pending the submission of a file to the DPP. 

The search was conducted as part of Operation Tara, the goal of which is to protect communities from the scourge of illegal drugs.
