Windy conditions made this year’s Lady Captain’s Day a true test of golf, challenging every part of our ladies golf. Lady Captain Eleanor Devaney was at the club house early on Saturday morning with her sister Judith, greeting all the ladies as they took to the fairways.

Beautiful flower arrangements decorated the clubhouse and the ladies were delighted to have their first opportunity to view the captain’s prizes, a wonderful array of jewellery and bags. Eleanor provided goodies for the ladies to sustain them during their round. Over 60 ladies competed. Thankfully the rain stayed away and the course was in excellent condition.

Fantastic Evening

A fantastic evening followed in the clubhouse. The ladies started to arrive early dressed in their finery and were greeted by Lady Captain Eleanor. The gathering enjoyed a delicious meal, thanks to Gillian, John & Staff. In her speech Lady Captain Eleanor, thanked the Lady Members for taking part in her prize, the course staff for having the course in magnificent condition, her Committee. She also said thanked her family and friends for coming to her special day.

The winner of this years Lady Captain’s prize, a beautiful watch from Ryan Thomas Jewellers was Margaret Renehan. Margaret, a previous Lady Captain, said she was delighted to win. In her speech she thanked Lady Captain Eleanor for the fabulous prize and her playing partner Marie Molloy

A great night followed, with Gerry Cunningham providing the music. The ladies showed off their dancing skills until the late hours.
