A lot of work!

Outgoing Independent Tipperary councillor, Máirín McGrath, has revealed the realities of canvassing for Local Elections.

In a post on Facebook, she lifted the veil of the difficulties of getting to every constituent and the huge amount of ground to be covered in her Cahir Local Electoral Area and also showed a map she uses to mark off the roads and houses she gets to.

She said: "Over the last number of weeks I have been out day and night trying to meet as many of the electorate as possible while also trying to balance my workload.

"My night-time routine is marking off the roads and houses I’ve visited from the day before! We are finally starting to fill out!

"It is always the aim of #TeamMcGrath that we knock on every door to hear your views and concerns but as we head into the last 10 days of the Campaign, it will not be physically possible to knock on every door myself."

She added: "I will therefore now have additional teams knocking on doors on my behalf.

"I am very blessed to have such an experienced and supportive team behind me and any issues raised with my representatives will be brought back to me personally.

"I want to thank all of the constituents that I have met so far on the campaign trail for your time and courtesy at the doors.

If you have any concerns you would like to discuss, please feel free to contact me at [email protected] or our Office on 052-6129155."
