Buttimer Engineering in Cahir will double its workforce

Tipperary-based Buttimer Engineering is set to expand its workforce to over 400 by 2028, including both direct employees and subcontractors.

The company, based in Cahir, which specializes in bulk material handling systems and steel fabrication, is a diversified engineering firm poised for growth.

This expansion is supported by a significant investment from Development Capital, an Irish growth and development fund manager established in 2013.

Buttimer Engineering projects substantial growth over the coming years, with plans to increase its revenue from €25 million to €65 million.

The company aims to expand in sectors like UK ports and infrastructure, and data center solutions and is planning to establish a new electrical engineering division.
