Community mourns the passing of Kiladangan GAA life president and businessman Jimmy Slattery

The death has occurred of James (Jimmy) Slattery, Ballyanny, Nenagh, Co Tipperary, late of Agritech and life time president of Kiladangan GAA Club, on April 1, 2026.

In a statement, Kiladangan GAA & Camogie Club extended its “deepest sympathies to the family of our Life President, Jimmy Slattery.”

The club described him as “a proud Kiladangan man who wore the club colours with distinction during the 1950's.”

They added that his dedication continued beyond his playing days, serving as club secretary “on two separate occasions, from 1954 to 1957 and again in 1965,” where “he gave generously of his time and effort, helping to strengthen the club during important years in its history.”

Kiladangan GAA & Camogie also stated that Jimmy was “a lifelong supporter” who “remained a steadfast and loyal follower of Kiladangan, travelling far and wide to support the club.”

They noted his practical contribution to club facilities, saying he “was the go-to expert for the grass seed used in developing the main pitch in Puckane.”

The club added that “Jimmy also supported the club in all aspects,” and said this contribution continues “through the ongoing sponsorship of Kiladangan GAA & Camogie by the Slattery family business, Agritech Company.”

“Jimmy’s contribution to Kiladangan GAA is immeasurable, and his legacy will live on in our club,” the statement concluded.
