South Tipperary Art Group has returned after the summer break

Adults were back last Tuesday, Juniors return this Saturday
The junior section of South Tipperary Art Group (STAG), both primary (nine years to Sixth Class) and seniors (First Year to Leaving Certs) will return on this Saturday, September 16 in the infant school, Ss Peter and Paul’s Primary School, Kickham Street, Clonmel from 10.30am to 12 noon.
Prospective members should contact the group’s Organiser Maureen Purcell at 086-8096823 and former members must book in also.
The mosaic by Junior STAG with the Sixth Class boys from the school is nearly complete and will be hung in a public space soon. Congratulations to all involved.
No words can express the group’s deep sorrow at the tragic loss of four beautiful young people in the recent road traffic accident in Clonmel, especially as some of the Junior STAG members are Leaving Cert pupils also.
STAG members are thinking of the families and friends who now have to come to terms with the consequences of this awful accident.
May Luke McSweeney, Grace McSweeney, Nicole Murphy and Zoey Coffey rest in peace with the angels.
Members of STAG’s Adult work team have been very busy over the summer, painting the 200 feet-long hoarding at St Anthony’s Unit in Clonmel, which is just about finished now. It’s well worth checking out.
They have also painted the bench in Parnell Street with big bright flowers for Tipperary County Council.
Some STAG Adult members will visit Kenmare again this year for a week’s plein air painting and great craic.
STAG Adult members returned from the summer break last Tuesday night in the art room of Ss Peter and Paul’s School and will be back on Wednesday morning September 20 upstairs in the Arts Centre, Nelson Street, Clonmel.
New members, with some knowledge of art/craft are always welcome at these sessions.
Sincere sympathy is extended to one of STAG’s work team, Bartley Burke, and the Burke family on the untimely death of Bartley’s beloved wife Phil.
Phil, from Old Tobaraheena, Clonmel died at Tipperary University Hospital on July 28.
May she rest in peace.
