St Vincent de Paul appeals for new volunteers to help make a difference across Tipperary

New volunteers for St Vincent de Paul (SVP) are being sought across Tipperary.
The Society of St Vincent de Paul (SVP) is appealing for new volunteers in Tipperary to support individuals and families who are struggling with the rising cost of living, isolation and unexpected financial pressures.
SVP volunteers provide practical assistance and companionship, helping people to navigate difficult moments with dignity and peace of mind.
Ian Byrne, a SVP volunteer from Clonmel, said, “After retiring from the Army three years ago, I wanted to give something back locally.
"Volunteering with SVP has been a really meaningful way to do that - through visitation, fundraising and supporting the community employment scheme.
"SVP acts as a vital support to so many communities around Ireland, and giving just a small bit of time can make a real difference.”
Ways you can help
SVP is currently looking for kind, reliable volunteers who can offer even a small amount of time each week. Opportunities include:
- Home visitation – making a difference by visiting people in their homes, offering support, friendship and practical support without judgement.
- Child & Family Services – delivering essential services that support children, family and older people in the community.
- SVP Retail - supporting customers, sorting donations and helping raise vital funds for local assistance.
- Social Housing – for those with the right experience, helping to deliver and sustain social housing in specific areas.
SVP volunteers are trained and supported, and roles can be matched to your availability and interests.
