Summer Camps aimed at kids and teenagers set to begin at The Source Thurles Community Panto return to The Source with their Summer Camp - Spotlight.

Running from Monday July 3 to Friday, July 7, this camp is suitable for kids aged between 7 and 13 years.

During the weeklong camp you will learn the art of stage craft through dance, drama, and vocals.

You will also explore the technical side of theatre, working with lights, sound, stage management, as well as Make-up and costume. Make new friends, build confidence and have fun while learning about performance in a safe friendly environment.

The camp ends with an afternoon performance in the theatre on Friday, July 7.

Next up we are delighted to bring you The Summer Youth Project. This year’s theme is VERTIGO.

Running from Monday-Friday, July 10-14, this camp is suitable for teens aged between 13-18 years. Join us for an immersive journey into the depths of fear with Vertigo.

Are you afraid of heights? Or do you get a bit uncomfortable when you see a black cat. Or a spider? Maybe even when you step outside the door, you get that sinking feeling.

This year’s Project looks at the idea of fear and anxiety – the rational and irrational fears and how they might control us or we control them.

Guided by skilled facilitators in art and drama , participants will delve into themes of fear both rational and irrational.

We will look at key artworks - Alfred Hitchcock’s classic film Vertigo - a fear of heights and falling (or maybe something else) - and Louise Bourgeois artwork Maman - a large scale sculpture of a spider, which rather than being a figure of fear was a protective creature for the Artist.

Join us for Vertigo and let the worlds of art and drama intertwine, as we embark on a thrilling adventure that transcends boundaries and empowers young minds to turn fear into triumph.

Bookings for both camps can be made via Box Office on (0504) 90204, places for both are limited and fill up fast, so book soon to avoid disappointment.
