TD calls for better links between Tipperary transport and national routes

Seamus Healy urges upgrades to rail and expansion of local bus services in the county
A local TD has called for transport networks in Tipperary to be better integrated with national routes.
Seamus Healy raised the matter, arguing that a serious approach to climate change requires a comprehensive bus and rail network across the country.
The independent representative highlighted the Waterford to Limerick line, which serves the main towns in South Tipperary, describing it as slow and infrequent. Speaking in the Dáil, Deputy Healy said the line requires upgrading.
At the same time, he is advocating for the expansion of local link services in the county. The CL1, CL2 and CL9 routes, launched in Clonmel in December 2023, have significantly improved connectivity within the town.
However, no similar services exist in other towns, and Deputy Healy is urging the Government to extend the programme more widely.
