2. Colm Boyle (Borris-Ileigh) Had a tenacious outing at cornerback, coming out with countless possessions in the first half, and also hit a fine, pointed effort to boot.
2.
3. Denis Maher (Thurles Sarsfields) A colossus at full-back, Maher minded the house brilliantly in the win over Mullinahone. He cleaned up so much possession and rarely allowed any change in the full-back line.

4. Peter Melbourne (Moycarkey Borris) Despite Roscrea scoring a few later goals to put an undeserved, and positive gloss on the score line, the Moycarkey defence was largely superior, with Melbourne in fine form at full-back. He was very composed throughout the game and spread assuredness around the defence.

5. Martin Kehoe (Mullinahone) His work ethic was on show once again in Cashel at the weekend, with himself and Eanna Ryan on the other wing getting forward at every opportunity. Kehoe hit three superb points from range and caused plenty of headaches for Sarsfields.
