Brewery Lane Drama Group's production of the Brian Friel play was sold out for eight nights
Brewery Lane Drama Group’s spring play – The Loves of Cass McGuire – was a huge success with all eight nights of the production sold out and a waiting list of theatre fans eager to get a chance to see the show.
The drama about a woman who is rejected by her family on her return to Ireland after 50 years in America, finished its week long run at Carrick-on-Suir's Brewery Lane Theatre last Saturday night, April 12.
This was Brewery Lane Drama Group’s third time to stage the Brian Friel play with the group first staging it in 1972 just five years after its international premiere and again in 1989.
This latest production was directed by Suzanne Shine and the cast included Maria Clancy in the title role of Cass, Paula O’Dwyer, Walter Dunphy, Colm Power, David Shee, Jayne Tennyson, Julie La Fontaine, Jacqui Delahunty, Suzanne Walsh and Jake Tubbritt. Two cast members, Walter Dunphy and Paula O’Dwyer also acted in the 1989 production.
Walter says Brewery Lane Drama Group was delighted with the public turn out for the play and the reception it received from audiences.
