There is something for everyone at the Thurles Farmers’ Market

The arrival of swallows and rising temperatures are indicators of approaching summer. Gardeners are tending to flowers and shrubs, while the thoughts of others turn to vegetables or fruit plants.

We have some starter plants for you – cabbage, strawberry, beetroot, renewinglettuce plants and bedding plants - come and check it out on Saturday.

We offer a lot of hidden extras – Milk & Butter locally produced, juices from the Apple Farm and a selection of honey – Gerry Ryan’s Fancy Honey Dundrum, Tipperary Honey(Fogarty’s Holycross), Raheen Honey(Joe Molloy – Holycross) and we hope to have the BallysloeHoney back in stock soon.

Magners Farm Free Range Grass fed hens, the jams from Ayle farm and condiments from Rívesci are also available. The range and quality of baked goods is superb, and you can place an advance order with Mary if you wish or order that custom cake for a special occasion.

Hammersley’s meats are just excellent – whole chickens, to goujons, bacon to pork steak, puddings & sausages, burgers to steak – sausage rolls ready to bake or mince for those thinking of a tasty casserole or chilli con carne!

For all your fruit and vegetable requirements Michael Ryan is the go-to man – busy trying to get planting completed at present.

He also stocks hen and duck eggs. If you are in the neighbourhood for the Market or a walk don’t forget there is a Coffee Truck operating from 8am to 4pm daily, and they also offer a choice of teas with four sets of tables with seating attached available.

The market operates every Saturday morning between 9am and 12.30pm at the Greyhound Stadium Thurles with plenty of free car parking space.
