OMC

A big thanks to Dan Tynan and Róisín Comerford for inviting our second year engineering students to OMC Technologies DAC in Cabra for a tour of their state of the art facilities.

We first went to their meeting room for an induction and presentation of the work they do and to see the scope of the company.

We were then taken down to the workshop floor where we got to see the impressive work they do with stainless steel and mild steel. Finally, we got to see their premier green energy side of the business. We had a great day out and wish OMC and past pupils Padraic, Seanie and Tossy Comerford every success in the future.

Order of Merit

Well done to TY student Luke Blackwell on achieving an Order of Merit for his poster ‘A statistical analysis of the wheelchair accessibility of towns and a survey of public attitudes and awareness’ in the John Hooper awards. Luke will receive his award in Croke Park in October.

U15 Rugby

Our U15s rugby team had a good win against St Declans to progress the next stage of the Cleary Cup competition.

TY Geography

This week TY Geography students conducted a field study on the River Suir. The boys carried out 4 experiments to measure the gradient, speed, depth and bedload of the river.

This field study was great practice for any boys completing Leaving Cert Geography next year.

1st Year Soccer

Well done to our 1st year soccer team who defeated Highschool Clonmel in the 4th round of the Munster Cup today - massive team effort and a hard-fought game with Cathal Lillis scoring the winner.

Senior Soccer

Congrats to our senior soccer team on a tremendous 4 - 2 win after extra time over a formidable Cashel CS side in the semi final of the inaugural Dick Lowney Tipperary Senior Cup. Well done lads - the final awaits.

They will now play the Br O’Connell shield next week against other second teams from Nenagh, Midleton, Kilkenny and Ardscoil Rís.
