Thurles Farmer's Market highlights local skills and crafts

Our thoughts are turning to Heritage Week in August – the theme this year is traditions, practices, knowledge and skills passed down through the generations. Food production is founded on these precious skills, so we hope to be able to highlight some of these skills and knowledge in August.
Craft skills are also a huge part of our Heritage. It will also be an opportunity for us to raise some vital funds for a local charity. Absolutely wonderful to have a customer ask on Saturday if he could donate a prize for a raffle – his companion offered to do likewise. More details next week. The usual team will be with us on Saturday - local food produced by people you know.
Meat, some oven-ready such as Chicken Pasquale and Stuffed Pork steak, milk, eggs – hen and duck, jams, juices, honey and condiments. Baked goods – the full range (Cakes, Tarts, Buns, Eclairs, Breads, Scones, Quiche – custom orders welcome) fruit, vegetables, flowers and our latest addition - two types of Cashel Blue Cheese.
We now carry the iconic Cashel Blue Cheese and a special reserved cheddar – both made from cow’s milk.
We have a location that allows indoor or outdoor trading and offers our customers plenty of free car parking – new traders welcome – call 087 270 1689.
Please try to support your local artisans and the local economy. Shop local and keep your local skill set and suppliers in the business. We are on Instagram, Facebook and on Twitter @ThurlesM.
The Farmers Market operates from the Greyhound Stadium in Thurles.
Our hours are 9am to 12.30pm every Saturday, and we hope to see you soon!
The Café Chris Tea Truck is on-site seven days a week, so it is a great point for walkers to meet – have a beverage (hot or cold) before orafter your walk- plenty of outdoor seating available to sit and have a chat.
