Tipperary autism campaigner Cara Darmody and her dad, Mark, will meet with the Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar, and separately with the CEO of the HSE, Bernard Gloster over the next week, Tipperary Labour TD Alan Kelly has revealed.

They will meet with HSE CEO Bernard Gloster this Wednesday, and the Taoiseach on Wednesday, July 12.

"I was delighted to be able to help facilitate both meetings and thank them both for making time available," said Deputy Kelly.

He said that the campaign of Cara Darmody on behalf of her two brothers had been inspirational and she had achieved huge change, in particular the commitment from Minister for Disabilities, Anne Rabbitte to ensure that anyone who needs an assessment of needs can apply for this privately and it will be paid by the HSE if a number of regional assessment centres aren’t open by August 1.
