Kaysie Joyce wins 70kgs final at the National Stadium

Clonmel’s Kaysie Joyce won her seventh Irish boxing title in a row on Saturday evening when she beat Cassie May Henderson in the 70 kgs final at the National Junior Championship finals.

The Clonmel boxer, nicknamed Copper, was delighted to have her hand raised in victory at the National Stadium in Dublin after she got the better of the Phoenix Amateur Boxing Club, Dublin fighter in a split decision, three-two.

The deciding factor in the contest was the very strong finish by the Clonmel girl, as she landed a beautiful right-hand, left hook combination in the final round.

Congratulations are extended to Kaysie, and a big well done also to club coaches Keith (Bobby) Galvin and Denny Dillon.

Kaysie, who is from Baron Park, Clonmel, had huge support from her family and clubmates at the final in Dublin.
