Ghostbusters ‘Ecto-1’ replica here to make Halloween dreams come true

Fans of the movie Ghostbusters could make their Halloween costumes complete with a replica of the film’s iconic ‘Ecto-1’ car.

The full-size replica is up for grabs online for £150,000, but comes fully decked out in movie-correct features and packs a 5.7-litre V8 engine from a Corvette.

With a full suite of working lights, the car even has an on-board sound system that can play music and quotes from the iconic film. It’s registered for use on the UK’s roads, though those Ecto-1 plates can only be used when static. There’s even a siren to use when the car is on display.

For sale via Autotrader’s new ‘OMG’ category filter which is one of 13 new AI-powered search categories on the site, the 1959 model has 119,000 miles on the clock but has space for seven inside to sit in spooky comfort. In all, the car measures an incredible 22 feet long and even feet wide.

Erin Baker, Editorial Director at Autotrader, said: “We showcase hundreds of thousands of incredible vehicles on our platform, but this Cadillac Ecto-1 is truly supernatural. Finished with ghost-hunting props, dramatic light bars and a recognisable siren,

“It’s a spectacular tribute to one of cinema’s greatest ever cars. Arriving just in time for Halloween, it offers a rare opportunity for film fans and collectors alike to own a legendary piece of pop culture – and the next owner is sure to turn plenty of heads, all for a cool £150,000!”
