Tipperary draft in talented U20s ahead of Tailteann Cup opener against Sligo

Tipperary will travel to Sligo on Sunday for the first round of the Tailteann Cup

The Tipperary senior football team for Sunday's round one Tailteann Cup clash with Sligo has been announced by Philly Ryan and his management team.

There are plenty of positives for Tipperary ahead of the trip to Tubbercurry, with Sean O'Connor named to start his first competitive game of this year's championship action. O'Connor came on as a second-half substitute for Tipp in the recent Munster semi-final loss to Clare.

There is a youthful infusion in the 26, also with two players from the U20 panel being drafted after a good Munster campaign. Eoin O'Connell of Loughmore Castleiney and Daithi Hogan of St Patrick's are amongst the substitutes.

Throw-in takes place at 1.30pm in Tubbercurry. See the full matchday panel below.
