Tipperary gardaí carry out incredible act of kindness for elderly couple in distress
The snowstorm has brought out the best of Tipperary people
Tipperary gardaí have told the story of an incredible act of kindness for an elderly couple in distress in the Premier County during the ongoing cold snap.
An Garda Síochána, and its national Facebook page, said: "Among the calls to the station in Tipp Town on Tuesday was one from an elderly couple living up the Glen of Aherlow - a beautiful but isolated part of the county that is affected by the icy conditions.
"They urgently needed their prescriptions from the pharmacy but have found themselves snowed in and unable to leave the house.
"Garda Ryan, Garda Lynch and Garda Cahill were out on patrol in the SUV and more than happy to help.
"If you or anyone you know needs a hand with any errands during this cold spell - whether you need the messages or anything collected and dropped in to you - we're here!"
