Tipperary gardaí urge people to be wary of suspicious emails following latest scam

The gardaí in Nenagh are investigating a scam in which the injured party was contacted through a messaging service by a person she thought was a relative of hers.

This was in fact a fraudster and €1,750 was stolen from the injured party’s account.

In a second incident, the injured party had attempted to obtain a loan online through a website and ended up being defrauded out of close to €500.

A garda spokesman said people need to be wary of suspicious emails.
