Photograph shows many familiar faces taking part on last year's Charity Challenge event in Kerry, which raised almost €9,000 for worthy charities. Some places are still available on the upcoming Spring Charity Challenge 2024, which is based in the four-star La Mon Hotel, Comber, county Down.

The event takes place for the 51st time from April 12 to 14, this spring, with a wide choice of guided walks. Led by experienced leaders from Mid-Tipp Hillwalkers, the event is open to all, and there are walks to suit all fitness levels.

These include an ascent of Slieve Donard (the highest mountain in Ulster), a circuit of the high Mourne Mountains; a hike around the historic Belfast Hills and is an easy nature walk.

The event supports the Search and Rescue Dogs Association and Thurles Meals on Wheels.

The contribution of €225 includes accommodation for the weekend with breakfast on Saturday and Sunday and dinner followed by entertainment on Saturday evening. A deposit of €100 secures a place in the hotel.

For further information on what promised to be another very memorable weekend, please get in touch with the members of the organising committee as follows: Brid Ryan Bourke (086 8071753), Tina Bourke (086 3565134), Brid Hurley (087 6360585) or email, [email protected].
