23. Johnny Ryan Rating: 8/10 Had a debut to remember. The Arravale Rovers man had many eyes on him considering the lack of depth in the full back line coming into 2023, but he has made the position his own, playing very well against the Banner, getting on countless possessions and doing well in 50/50 contests. Very positive.

4. Michael Breen Rating: 6/10 Breen had a so so debut at full back in Ennis. Had trouble aerially in both halves, with Mark Rodgers fielding over him for the first goal, while Aron Shanagher fetched two in the final moments of the second half with a goal coming from the second. Overall though, he dealt with most things without much fuss and will be pleased with the full 70.

2. Cathal Barrett Rating: 8/10 Tasked with keeping Clare’s Tony Kelly quiet, the Holycross Ballycahill man did just that. Despite an early yellow card, Barrett kept his discipline well and largely curtailed Kelly, with the ace forward pointing just once in the game. A brilliant display from the Tipp corner back.

15. Brian McGrath Rating: 6/10 Had a mixed bag in his first start at senior level in the championship. He pointed early from distance but like the rest of the half back line in the first half, they were far from dominant, particularly from the opposition puckout. He fared much better in the second half and will learn plenty from the game.
