1. Barry Hogan Rating: 6/10 Three goals in the final quarter of the first half were the death knell for Tipperary but you couldn’t be critical of Hogan for either goal. He went long quite often in response to Cork pressuring the Tipp puckout and with a stiff enough wind to hold up the deliveries - coupled with a half-forward line and midfield malfunction - there was little for Hogan could do to stop the possession loss.placeholder image

Tipperary were defeated by Cork in Pairc Ui Chaoimh last Sunday evening

15. Jason Forde Rating: 8/10 One of the few really positive outcomes from Sunday’s game was the form of Jason Forde. He looked a lot closer to the version of Jason Forde that we have seen at his peak as he hit some trademark scores in the first half while he also hit his frees well when Darragh McCarthy was substituted early in the second half. His and Morris’ form is going to be vital for a Tipperary team that need their scoring output to trouble the defences in the upcoming Munster Championships.

9. Sam O'Farrell Rating: 7/10 Started the game at wing forward and while some of his decision making on the ball left a bit to be desired, he did find himself in a lot of dangerous positions at times and crafted at least three decent goal chances. He tired quickly as the game went on and he is probably feeling the effects of his hectic schedule for the seniors and U20 squad. He has been a positive in this league, there is no doubt and he will feature strongly in Tipperary’s Munster campaign.
