2. Conor McCarthy Rating: 7/10 The Nenagh man is certainly making the most of his chances, and it is very welcome in the absence of Cathal Barrett. He is an out and out corner back and everything he did on Saturday was assured and accurate. Hardy.

3. Bryan O'Mara Rating: 7/10 Just about edged his battle with Alex Considine on Saturday. The Dublin forward scored 0-3 but O'Mara was prominent, blocking three shots and stopping a certain first half goal with a brilliant hook. This was his first ever game at full back at this level and he certainly will be an option to cover here come championship.

4. Johnny Ryan Rating: 7/10 Ryan was given the task of picking up Donal Burke after the first half salvo from the Dublin sharpshooter, and he acquitted himself well despite Burke picking off a few more beauties. Another decent showing.

5. Michael Breen Rating: 6/10 Like O'Mara, Breen was tried in a new position for the first time and he had some teething problems. He got on the ball a fair amount but tended to make the wrong decision, while he was guilty of running out over some ball when trying to pick it on the run. Capable of more.
