2. Michael Corcoran Rating: 6/10 He had a ding-dong battle with Liam Collins in the first half and did pretty well. He was withdrawn at half-time, presumably as a protective measure with Fitzgibbon Cup adding to his workload considerably. He is showing promise.

3. Eoghan Connolly Rating: 7/10 Connolly had another assured display in the full-back line. Dealt well with the threat of Kevin Cooney throughout and carried the ball very well upfield on a few occasions. Looking solid thus far.

3.
8. Michael Breen Rating: 7/10 Yet another intriguing match-up with Conor Whelan that was tit-for-tat throughout the contest. Breen was well on top in the first half and kept the Galway talisman to just one point and very little else in that time. Whelan hit two more points in the second half when the game was over but it would be fair to say that Breen had his job done at that point. A reliable man-marker.

22. Brian McGrath Rating: 7/10 Drafted in at the last moment, McGrath did well considering the short preparation time afforded to him. Did nothing flash and while Oisin Lohan hit a few nice points, they were sporadic as McGrath was effective at times.
