6. Ronan Maher Rating: 8/10 Dropped into the pocket with great effect once again. His presence at the heart of the defence will be crucial to Tipperary's year and he showed it yet again on Sunday. He hit a fine score and if he can add the accuracy of shooting to his game, he would be formidable indeed. The debate about his best position must be put to bed.

5. Sam O'Farrell Rating: 8/10 This was a league debut for the Nenagh man but he performed like a seasoned veteran on Sunday. His energy up and down the wing was impressive and, had he had his shooting nailed down, he would have ended with four or five points from play rather than two.

7. Craig Morgan Rating: 8/10 Pushed up the field due to the pre-match re-shuffle, Morgan complimented Connors well with his running ability and workrate. So far, he looks like a man who is thriving in the battle zone further upfield, and his form in this game will be hugely encouraging.

9. Willie Connors Rating: 9/10 This is up there with Connors' best performances in a Tipp jersey. He was omnipresent in Salthill all game and the amount of possession and work he got through was phenomenal. He has had his injury struggles in recent years but looks to be getting back to his best. He finished with two points from play to boot.
