Cahir man Paudie Roche is the Lead Strength and Conditioning Coach with the Arsenal Women’s soccer team that beat Barcelona 1-0 in Saturday’s UEFA Champions League final.

This incredible achievement reflects Paudie’s years of dedication, expertise and passion for the game.

The Cahir man, along with the rest of the Arsenal squad and backroom staff, helped deliver a historic win for the Gunners, who went into the game at the Estádio José Alvalade in Lisbon as underdogs, with Barcelona having won three of the past four European titles.

Stina Blackstenius scored the winner as Arsenal won their first Champions League title in 18 years.

Ireland’s Katie McCabe also played a starring role for Arsenal, who did it the hard way by coming through the Champions League qualifying stages and playing 15 matches to win the trophy.
