Tipperary man meets Minister over new legislation around his landmark pensions court win
Toomevara man Johnny O'Meara and Tipperary Labour TD Alan Kelly met the Minister for Social Protection Heather Humphreys following Mr O'Meara's landmark win in the Supreme Court regarding widower' pensions.
Minister Humphreys met Mr O'Meara to discuss the aftermath of his Supreme Court win where it was decided that he should be entitled to the widowers' pension following the passing of his partner of many years Michelle.
This was a landmark judgment that will ensure thousands of people will be entitled to this benefit now into the future.
The meeting discussed how new legislation was imminent to ensure this happened.
