Tipperary music event organiser has lined up an exciting show to kick-start new season

Gerry Lawless of Clonmel World Music is bringing Padraig Jack and Sabrina Dinan to Clonmel
Clonmel World Music is back after its summer break, and they are delighted to present a great show for their first gig in the autumn/winter schedule
This gig will be held in Jerry Moynihans, Gladstone Street Clonmel on Friday September 6.a
The show will be a double header show, with each artist doing a full set, with an interval in between.
Gerry Lawless, of Clonmel World Music says “Sabrina Dinan (Clare) and Padraig Jack (Aran Islands, Galway) are two of the best of the country’s current crop of singer-songwriters. We are very excited about this show, as we feel these two singers really complement each other’s songs and styles.
Padraig Jack has been on our radar for a few years, and we are pleased to get him to come to Clonmel, with the release of his new album this year. His single Making Sand is one of the best Irish singles of the last few years.
Sabrina Dinan wowed our audience when she came to Clonmel as a special guest of Ultan Conlon earlier this year, and it is a pleasure to get her back for her own show.” said Gerry Lawless.
SABRINA DINAN
Sabrina Dinan is a singer songwriter from county Clare. Having performed throughout Europe, Australia and the U.S., Sabrina has shared the stage with Damien Dempsey, Jacob Dylan and Brendan Benson to name but a few.
She started playing guitar at age eleven. During that period of her life Sabrina was inspired by everything on the radio and listened obsessively with her sisters to everything ranging from Joni Mitchel to Wham.

She continued to play in small clubs and festivals in Sydney.
On her return to Ireland, Sabrina settled in Galway and it was there that she recorded her first E.P. titled The Bondi Hotel.
After hearing her perform in Glór Theatre in Ennis, another Clare resident, Luka Bloom, invited her to join him on his Holland and Belgium tour in 2006. Following this, and the comfort he had witnessed in Sabrina as a performer, Luka also invited her to tour with him in Germany, Australia and America in the same year. She was also invited to contribute to the late John Martyn on a tribute album titled ‘Johnny Boy Would Love This’ in 2011 alongside Lisa Hannigan, David Grey, Beck and Beth Orthon.
PADRAIG JACK
RTE Folk Awards nominee Padraig Jack released his sophomore studio album in Spring 2024.
A native of the Aran islands in the Irish speaking Gaeltacht, Padraig is proudly bilingual both as a conversationalist and a songwriter and writes and sings meaningful songs on guitar and piano in Irish Gaelic and English. With influences from James Taylor and The Eagles to Van Morrison, Sinead O’Connor and Shane McGowan, Padraig appreciates strong songwriting with a distinct point of view.
Having demonstrated his songwriting bona fides with his critically acclaimed debut Making Sand, which was named RTE Album of the Week and garnered an RTE Folk Award nomination for Best Original Song , Padraig is again teaming up with renowned producer John Reynolds (Sinead O’Connor, Damien Dempsey, Indigo Girls) and his occasional co-writing partner Barry Ronan as well as former Waterboy and Saw Doctors member Anthony Thistlethwaite for his second album.
Having toured Ireland and the UK as special guest to artists such as Miles Hunt of The Wonder Stuff , Damien Dempsey and Sharon Shannon, Padraig feels as comfortable on the contemporary music stage as he does when contextualising his own Irish Gaelic cultural background on multilingual tours of Wales and the Basque country.
Padraig Jack’s recent single It Could Be Home was added to the RTE Recommends list for two weeks on its release in April and was the first single of his upcoming second album. His latest single These Shores was released in May 2024. The album These Shores is out on October 11.
Doors for the gig will open at 7pm.
The show will start at 8pm prompt.
