The little boys were diagnosed with a life-altering condition

The parents of two little boys suffering from a life-altering condition have thanked the public for their support.

Tadhg and Oisín Relihan were diagnosed with myotubular muopathy, a rare genetic disease affecting the skeletal muscles.

The little boys have been in hospital since they were born in July 2023.

€23,620 have been raised so far to help the twins get medical care.

"On behalf of myself and Nicola we want to thank everyone who has shared donated to and arranged raffles for Tadhg and Oisíns go fund me. The support and generosity has blown us away and we will be forever grateful thank you everyone," said the parents, Danny and Nicola Relihan, in an update.

"The past 6 months have been the hardest time of our lives. Amidst all that's happened we have been able to make some magical memories. We were to get married in the summer of 2024 but when we found out about their condition we decided to cancel and get married with them in the NICU," they said on a GoFundMe page set up for their twins.

Danny and Nicola added: "Them being there was most important. We are now reaching out to ask for help for their current and future care needs, which are and will continue to be very complex. We hope to bring them home to Clonmel in the future and when we do we will need to modify our home and fund for additional nursing support and equipment. People have been so good to us already and words could never describe how grateful we are."
