Sinn Féin Tipperary members and public representatives travelled to Monard, Kilross and Emly on Sunday to listen to people and hear their concerns on the cost of living crisis.

"We wanted to hear about people's lived experience right now as heating and petrol become more and more expensive.

Many things came up on the doorstep, worries about how to pay rising bills, cost of shopping, infrastructure issues (roads/lighting), but the common theme was anger at FF/FG/Government independents' slow response to supporting families," said Cllr Annemarie Ryan.

Cllr Ryan called on the Government to enact the emergency legislation proposed by Pearse Doherty the 'Mineral Oil Tax Bill 2026 (Emergency Cost of living reduction).

She said the Government had to remove excise duty from home heating oil, reduce excise duty on petrol and diesel and scrap their planned carbon tax increases
