Tipperary residents host annual Mass and honour local minor hurler Keith Loughnane

Moyne Road/Bellevue Residents’ Association in Thurles held their AGM and Mass to remember deceased residents in Thurles Order of Malta premises recently.
The following were returned as officers for the coming year: Tommy Barrett (Chairperson); Peter Bolger (Secretary); Michael Brett (Treasurer).
It was another busy year for the committee with a lot of progress made in the area.
A highlight was winning the Best Presented Estate in Thurles and working on developing a beautiful community garden in the estate.
A Mass to remember deceased residents was held after the AGM and was celebrated by Fr Jim Purcell and Fr Martin Mareja.
Framed pictures were displayed of residents who have passed away.
A presentation was made by Olive Collins to Marianne Dwyer and Ann Marie Dwan to thank them both for performing beautiful music and hymns during the Mass. Louis Curley was also thanked for taking pictures of the occasion.
The Mass was also attended by Cllr Sean Ryan and John Lanigan, representing Thurles Tidy Towns.
To conclude the evening a presentation was made to Keith Loughnane as the only Thurles player on the Tipperary Minor All-Ireland winning team.
Keith was presented with a Moran’s Menswear voucher and a very special letter of congratulations from the President of Ireland Michael D Higgins.
The association wish to thank all those who attended and made the evening so memorable.
